Your gateway is running under KerOS 6 or later.
The gateway is a versatile LoRaWAN equipment which must be configured to adress your needs.
We recommend to identify your use case of interest in use cases. Depending on the use case, you will have to go through different steps to set your system up.
The setup may be Zero-Touch thanks to Kerlink services : The gateway must simply be connected to the internet with its ethernet port and will be configured automatically by Kerlink services. Do not hesitate to contact Kerlink support for more details.
Another way is to establish a direct connection to your gateway, as described below.
You will need to connect to your gateway locally to configure the system.
Start by identifying available hardware interfaces according to your Wirnet™ gateway model:
Gateway model | Ethernet | USB device | WiFi AP |
---|---|---|---|
Wirnet™ iFemtoCell | |||
Wirnet™ iFemtoCell-evolution | |||
Wirnet™ iStation | |||
Wirnet™ iZeptoCell Ethernet | |||
Wirnet™ iZeptoCell Cellular |
Now follow the procedure corresponding to your selected hardware interface as it may differ depending on the type of connection :
Plug your gateway to your network through its Ethernet port.
You will now be able to reach your gateway by using its IP address, which may be given by your router or by using local names (mDNS FQDN - e.g klk-fevo-1234AB.local
), cf. Web interface for more details.
Directly connect a computer to the gateway with a USB cable. In this mode, the gateway will simulate an ethernet device.
Depending on which OS your PC is running, the behavior can slightly change
klk-xxxx-yyyyyy.local
)You might have to enable
link-local only
addressing on your interface and stop searching for DHCP addressing, using the following commandnmcli connection modify usb0 ipv4.method link-local
It is mandatory to use cdc_ecm driver to connect to the gateway. Depending of your machine, you may have to disable cdc_subset driver.
If you are having trouble to connect, we suggest to disable cdc_subset on your PC using:
echo "blacklist cdc_subset" | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf
and reboot your machine to take change into account
A WiFi Access Point (AP) is available at boot time on each Wirnet™ iFemtoCell for one hour, broadcasting an SSID named after its serial number (klk-wifc-XXXXXX
).
It can only be used to access the Wirnet™ iFemtoCell itself, as it does not route traffic and does not serve as an Internet wireless AP.
The passphrase to connect to this WiFi network is the Ethernet MAC address (which is written on the Wirnet™ iFemtoCell label), in uppercase, without spaces between the digits, e.g. 7076FFYYYYYY
.
Next step will now be to connect to the local Web interface, please refer to dedicated section Web interface
